Photos of Louisville - Downtown #1
This page contains an earlier batch of photos I took with a Sony
Mavica FD-83 digital camera (belongs to the company I work for).
These were taken the night of Sunday, 1 October 2000. I think. I
must not have yet figured out at the time how to take better photos at
night.

Some of the cast-iron buildings on the north side of the
600 block of West Main Street. If I'm not mistaken,
Louisville has the second largest collection of cast-iron
buildings in the world, second only to New York City.

This is another shot of the cast-iron buildings. I like
this photo better.

This photo could have been a lot better but for those darn
lights, but I like it anyway. On the left is the Galt House
hotel. Middle is an office tower, I think. On the right is
twin office buildings.

The Humana Building, designed by Michael Graves and built
in the early 1980s, was not Louisville's tallest
building at the time as I previously reported here.

Now that most of the lights are out of the way, I managed
to take a better photo of some of the buildings from #030.

the early 1990s and now Kentucky's tallest building.

The Kentucky International Convention Center, before some
finishing touches were put on it. Darn lights!

This photo doesn't really belong here. It was taken on
22nd Street just before the intersection with Portland Avenue.
The cars you see are going north towards Portland and the
interchange with the freeway. I took this photo because there
is something wrong here.
