Pictures from a May 1999 Camping Trip

Myself and some friends took a road trip to the Red River Gorge part of Daniel Boone National Forest. These photos were taken during our hike on Saturday afternoon, 15 May 1999. Not bad for the cheapest 110 camera I could find, huh?

The following people were camping with us:

  • Darren Stuart Embry
  • Beth O'Hara
  • Mike Waddell
  • Steve Carrico
  • Jason [last name unknown]
  • Crystal [last name unknown]
  • Angela Smith (did not hike with us)
  • Mike Morris (did not hike with us)

Select the small-size images on this page to view full-size versions, scanned at 150dpi. I apologize for the lack of interesting captions in most of these photos. Many of the photos were taken on top of this rock we hiked long and hard to reach, and others were taken on the way down.

A few of the same people (Beth, Mike, and I) along with many others, also went to Red River Gorge (and Natural Bridge) in October 1997. Photos from this trip are available courtesy of Bryan Siders.

Looking out over the rock. We hiked long and hard to get up here. It was worth it just to be able to look out far.
