Photos of Larry Wall lecture at the University of Cincinnati,
22 January 2001

The Cincinnati Linux Users Group successfully sponsored a lecture by Larry Wall on the development of version 6 of the Perl programming language. The lecture was quite well-attended. Larry gave basically the same talk and used the same slides from the 2000 Linux Showcase.

As you can tell, Derek and I did not arrive early enough to get a seat in the auditorium. This is the slide from the talk that discusses various features of other languages that Perl decided to use or not use.

The lecture hall was so crowded that people had to sit outside in the hallway to see the lecture on television. The audio was really difficult for me to hear.

This photo of Larry Wall and a slide discussing natural language concepts implemented in Perl was taken from another entrance to the auditorium that myself and some other people found.
